Description:
SLM 280 filter cartridges are filter elements custom-designed for SLM 280 series metal 3D printing equipment from SLM Solutions. They intercept submicron metal fumes inside recirculated inert gas to keep a pure atmosphere within the build chamber, acting as a core component to secure print quality of high-spec materials including titanium alloys and nickel-based alloys.
Complying with EN 1822 standard, this product reaches H13–H14 filtration grades with particle efficiency of ≥99.95%–99.995% for 0.3μm particles and initial resistance ≤220Pa. Multiple connection types are available including internal O-ring insertion, flange, pull rod and screw-in thread to fit various versions of SLM 280 printers.
Core Technical Advantages:
Multi-interface compatibility: Compatible with internal O-ring insertion, flange, pull rod and screw-in thread interfaces to match the filter chamber designs of all SLM 280 variants.
Terminal high-efficiency filtration: H13/H14 grades guarantee recirculated gas cleanliness up to ISO 8573 Class 1 standard and protect finished part quality.
Low resistance & high dust holding capacity: Optimized pleat depth of filter media cuts operational resistance while maintaining full filtration efficiency, with initial pressure drop ≤220Pa.
Application Fields:
SLM 280 Series Equipment

FAQ
Q1: Are filter cartridges interchangeable between different SLM 280 versions?
A: Different versions adopt distinct interface styles. Confirm your exact machine model and filter chamber interface before ordering.
Q2: How to identify the interface type?
A: Refer to the equipment manual or inspect the original filter: internal O-ring insertion type is directly inserted and sealed by O-rings; flange type is fixed via bolts with a flange plate; pull rod type is compressed by a central pull rod; screw-in thread type is installed by twisting.
Q3: How to choose between H13 and H14 grades?
A: H13 meets the requirements of most conventional printing tasks. H14 is recommended for high-value nickel alloy printing and scenarios with ultra-strict oxygen content limits.
Q4: Is leak testing required after filter replacement?
A: A PAO leak test is suggested to verify sealing tightness, especially for high-standard production such as aerospace component manufacturing.
