Welding Dust Extraction Filter Cartridges

Composite Carbon Filter Cartridge

Filter Manufacturer Safe & Reliable Long Lasting & Stable Customizable
The composite activated carbon filter cartridge adopts a dual-layer composite structure of polyester filter media and activated carbon layer. The outer polyester media traps solid particulate matter contained in welding fume, while the inner high iodine value activated carbon layer (iodine value ≥800mg/g) efficiently adsorbs hazardous gases and peculiar smells generated during welding operations.

Product Description

The composite activated carbon filter cartridge adopts a composite structure of polyester filter media plus activated carbon layer. The outer polyester media intercepts solid particles in welding fume, while the inner high iodine value activated carbon layer (iodine value ≥800mg/g) effectively adsorbs harmful gases and odors generated during welding.

Welding operations produce not only particulate fume but also various toxic gases. This cartridge realizes simultaneous removal of dust and odors, with dust removal efficiency ≥99.7% and odor adsorption rate ≥85%. It is ideal for comprehensive air quality improvement in welding workshops and reduces ventilation requirements.

Core Technical Advantages

  1. Simultaneous treatment of dust and VOCsThe dust filter layer achieves ≥99.9% filtration efficiency for particles above 0.3μm (tested per ISO 16890). The built-in high iodine value activated carbon layer adsorbs ozone, nitrogen oxides, VOCs and other hazardous gases, with NMHC removal efficiency ≥90%.

  2. Optimized composite structureThe outer pleated polyester media provides large filtration area; the inner honeycomb activated carbon delivers huge adsorption area, high adsorption efficiency and slow saturation.

  3. Effective against various welding hazardous gasesEfficiently removes ozone (O₃), nitrogen oxides (NOx), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, benzene series substances, etc.

  4. Surface-treated media for extended service lifePolyester media is treated with oil & water repellent coating (PTFE membrane optional) to reduce adhesion of oily dust. Its service life is over 30% longer than standard filter cartridges.

FAQ

Q1: Can composite activated carbon filter cartridges replace dedicated waste gas treatment equipment?

A: They are suitable for scenarios with medium & low VOCs concentration (<50mg/m³). Workshops with high VOCs concentration or large air volume still need supporting professional waste gas treatment facilities (activated carbon adsorption towers, catalytic combustion equipment, etc.). It is recommended to evaluate the VOCs concentration in welding fume first.

Q2: How to judge when the activated carbon layer needs replacement?

A: Replace if odor is smelled at the air outlet; the service time reaches the designed replacement cycle (usually 4–9 months); or the VOCs concentration at the air outlet exceeds standard after testing. Saturated activated carbon can be thermally regenerated or directly replaced.

Q3: What is the applicable temperature range of composite activated carbon filter cartridges?

A: Applicable temperature ≤75℃. The adsorption efficiency of activated carbon drops drastically under high temperature. Other types of filter cartridges shall be adopted for working conditions over 75℃. This carbon composite cartridge fits normal-temperature welding environments.

Q4: What harmful gases can composite activated carbon filter cartridges remove?

A: It mainly adsorbs organic gases (VOCs, benzene series, formaldehyde, etc.) and odors, and has partial adsorption capacity for ozone and nitrogen oxides. Its adsorption effect on carbon monoxide (CO) is limited. The adsorption efficiency depends on the iodine value of activated carbon and gas types.
