Description:
Cabin panel air filters are a compact variant of cabin HEPA filters, designed for aircraft cabin air recirculation systems with severely limited installation height. By increasing pleat height, panel filters deliver sufficient filtration area and dust holding capacity while maintaining low initial pressure drop. They effectively capture solid particulates, allergens and microorganisms in recirculated cabin air, greatly reducing the risk of virus transmission on board. In compliance with EN 1822 standard, the filters achieve ≥99.97% filtration efficiency for MPPS (Most Penetrating Particle Size, around 0.3μm), and some models reach ≥99.99%, helping create a safer and healthier environment for passengers and crew.
Core Technical Advantages:
Ultra-thin design: The overall thickness of the panel structure is generally ≤100mm, enabling installation in overhead bin interlayers, behind sidewall panels and other spaces unavailable for traditional V-type filters.
High pleat height for guaranteed filtration area: Raised filter media pleats (up to 80mm) compensate for filtration area loss caused by compact dimensions, meeting required dust holding capacity and service life.
Lightweight construction: Aluminum alloy frames paired with high-precision adhesive sealing technology maximize weight reduction while ensuring air tightness.
Working Condition Matching Table:
| Aircraft Model | Installation Location | Structural Advantages | Performance Index |
| B737, B757 | Rear of overhead bins | Ultra-thin panel type | Q=340m³/h, ΔP≤200Pa |
| A320 Series | Inner sidewall panels | Flat panel type | ≥99.97% efficiency |
Application Fields:
Boeing B737, B757 series aircraft
Compact mounting positions in cabin recirculation systems of single-aisle airliners
Auxiliary filtration for zone recirculation units on wide-body aircraft
Compact air purification systems for small passenger cabins
Air purification for special vehicles
Terminal filtration for air circulation systems in large RVs / luxury coaches
Air purification for mobile medical units
Case & Data Verification:
Cabin air filters were supplied to a civil aviation maintenance company in Xi’an, adopting imported glass fiber filter media. Under identical test conditions, these filters generate lower resistance than OEM parts, all reaching H3 average gravimetric efficiency grade. When maintaining equivalent average gravimetric efficiency, the dust holding capacity exceeds that of OEM filters.
FAQ:
Q1: What performance differences exist between panel-type cabin HEPA filters and cylindrical cabin filters?
A: Filtration efficiency is identical (≥99.97%). Cylindrical filters expand filtration area via higher pleat density and suit high-airflow demands; panel filters increase area through taller pleats and fit installations with limited vertical space. Both meet cabin air quality standards at equivalent efficiency levels.
Q2: Do panel HEPA filters require more frequent replacement?
A: Restricted by installation space, panel filters generally feature smaller total filtration area than cylindrical types, leading to slightly shorter service cycles under equal dust concentration. The difference remains minimal within standard maintenance schedules.
Q3: Are airworthiness approvals available?
A: Yes. Cabin panel HEPA filters must obtain FAA/EASA/CAAC airworthiness certifications or serve as PMA parts matching OEM specified part numbers.
