NGS Ozone Removal Cartridge

Filter Manufacturer Safe & Reliable Long Lasting & Stable Customizable
NGS ozone removal filter cartridges effectively remove ozone from aircraft nitrogen generation systems. Ozone existing in high-altitude air is drawn into engines and accumulates in bleed air, which rapidly degrades the performance of Air Separation Membranes (ASM) used for air separation in NGS and causes membrane failure. This filter cartridge can reduce outlet ozone concentration to.

Description:

NGS ozone removal filter cartridges efficiently eliminate ozone inside aircraft nitrogen generation systems. Ozone present in high-altitude atmosphere is ingested by engines and accumulates in bleed air, which rapidly degrades the performance of Air Separation Membranes (ASM) inside NGS and leads to membrane failure. This cartridge reduces outlet ozone concentration to less than 1 ppb (parts per billion).

Core Technical Advantages:

Catalytic decomposition: Special catalyst material decomposes ozone (O₃) under a wide range of temperature and humidity conditions.

ASM protection: This stage provides backup protection even if the upstream ozone converter malfunctions.

Integrated design: It can be integrated with other filter stages (particle, coalescing, activated carbon) inside a single housing to reduce pipeline layout and overall volume.

Application Fields:

Bleed air pre-treatment for B737NG/MAX NGS

NGS / fuel tank inerting systems of other aircraft models

Other onboard compressed air systems requiring ultra-low ozone concentration

Breathing air purification for industrial and medical operations under high-concentration ozone environments

Pneumatic gas pre-treatment for precision instruments

FAQ:

Q1: How does ozone damage ASM?
A: Ozone (O₃) is a strong oxidizing agent that oxidizes the polymer materials of hollow fiber membranes, resulting in reduced separation efficiency or mechanical rupture of membranes.

Q2: Aircraft are already equipped with ozone converters, why is this additional filter stage necessary?
A: Upstream ozone converters have limited catalytic efficiency and service life. An extra redundant protection stage greatly extends the in-service life of air separation membranes.
