Description:

Nitrogen System Water Removal Filter Cartridges are designed to separate gaseous and liquid water from bleed air, serving as one of the key protective components of NGS systems. After turbocharging and cooling, engine bleed air precipitates liquid water, which will directly block the pores of hollow fiber membranes and cause fiber swelling and rupture. This cartridge removes water to prevent hollow fiber membrane clogging, as well as sharp efficiency drop of ozone catalysts induced by water exposure.

Core Technical Advantages:

Liquid water coalescence: Tiny water droplets are coalesced into large droplets under high airflow velocity, which are drained via gravity or separation structures.

Compact & lightweight: Compliant with aviation airworthiness requirements.

Multi-stage coordination: Operates in tandem with integrated NGS pre-filters (for particle, oil and ozone removal) to guarantee rigorous purification performance.

Application Fields:

As a component of NGS pre-filter (Stage 2 or Stage 1 & 2), installed upstream of the ozone removal stage to extend the service life of ozone elimination catalysts.

FAQ:

Q1: Why are both gaseous and liquid water harmful to ASM?
A: Liquid water directly blocks membrane fibers and triggers fiber swelling and rupture; gaseous water does not damage membrane materials yet dilutes nitrogen-rich gas purity and reduces inerting efficiency. Therefore, the system shall remove liquid water as much as possible and control gaseous water content.

Q2: Are dedicated cartridges required for gaseous water removal?
A: Gaseous water is generally eliminated by cooling, membrane separation and other methods. The front stage of NGS mainly focuses on liquid water removal.
